After Channel 2 exposed the problem, Georgia’s DOT found nearly 2000 of the dangerous guardrails just on Georgia’s interstates. The guardrails are being removed on a case by case basis where construction projects exist. A GDOT spokesperson said there is no timeline for when the outdated BCT guardrails will be removed across the state; it all depends on funding.
